L'Église Saint-Philippe-du-Roule

    Comments:
  • The church of Saint-Philippe-du-Roule was built in the late eighteenth century and rebuilt twice during the nineteenth century. Louis XV requested Jean-François Chalgrin design the church in 1767, but the ground could not be broken until 1772. Due to lack of funds, the church was not completed until 1784. The style of the building is largely Neoclassical. In 1846 the building was remodeled and enlarged by Étienne-Hippolyte Godde, then by Victor Baltard in 1853 . (wikipedia.org)
