Work Title:
The Karlsruhe market square was designed by the Baden master builder and urbanist of classicism Friedrich Weinbrenner as a bourgeois counterweight to the noble seat of Karlsruhe Palace. The first sketches were made around 1800 and were implemented from 1807. The building built above the tomb of the city founder Karl Wilhelm von Baden-Durlach had to be demolished, so a pyramid was built above his remains in 1823. (wikipedia.org)
